About Me
Who?
Hi, I'm Caleb Evans, a college student who loves making websites. I currently reside in Carlsbad, California, attending college with a goal of majoring in Computer Science.
I consider myself a logical thinker, and I enjoy working with numbers. Unsurprisingly, therefore, math is my favorite school subject, particularly Trigonometry. I seem to have a fascination with patterns and order, powered by a genuine curiosity of the world. When challenges arise, I try to commit myself to solving them, since it's difficult for me to leave them unsolved. I occasionally try too much to perfect what I create, although I feel I also must finish what I start.
What?
I thoroughly enjoy writing websites (particularly web apps) from the ground up. I currently manage this personal website, along with a collection of more than 20 web app "projects". I've also written a handful of user styles for Firefox, some of which I still maintain.
My biggest project is a JavaScript library called jCanvas. It
Besides programming, I enjoy building LEGOs, spending time with family, and eating pizza.
When?
I've been developing websites (and apps) for a little more than 2 and a half years. I spend much of my free time working on my web apps, and occasionally, creating new ones.
Why?
I love to program for the fun of it. I love creating things, and making them work exactly how I want them to. I write some of my projects because I find them useful, although I sincerely hope that others find them useful as well.
How?
I became inspired to program from a web development class I took in high school, which taught me HTML, CSS, and some JavaScript. The class motivated me to expand my knowledge and ultimately sparked my great interest in programming. As a result, I taught myself everything I could learn about these (and other) languages using a number of online resources.
